Who We Are
WE Foundations
and Lumora Foundation Uganda
Our founder Janet Benway has worked personally with Lumora’s founder, Inyalio John Robert (JR) for 15 years, building a relationship grounded in trust, shared values, and proven commitment. Lumora’s board includes distinguished Ugandan educators, physicians, community health experts, and local government representatives – people with deep roots and real credibility in the community they serve. We are confident this partnership is the right foundation for lasting change.

Meet Willie and Evelyn
WE Foundations is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2025 in Long Lake, MN, USA. WE Foundations was inspired by founder Janet Benway’s parents, Willie and Evelyn, who instilled in her an appreciation of the power of education and a foundation of community service and responsibility toward underprivileged people. WE Foundations name is a tribute to Janet’s parents, Willie and Evelyn (WE), who believed that caring for others isn’t charity – it is responsibility and character.
WE Foundations mission is to work to create self-sustaining families and communities in the United States and Internationally, as the opportunity and funding are available.
The WE Foundations logo is more than a letter, it is a symbol of joy, connection, and impact. The “W” is formed by children raising their hands, a simple but powerful gesture that reflects the happiness and hope the foundation brings to their lives. It represents real moments of celebration, where education, support, and opportunity are changing their future. Every finger raised is a reminder that WE Foundations is not just building a school, it is lifting up a community and creating a brighter path forward for every child it serves.
